NRA - Summer Program
Summer 2024
Murray State College, in cooperation with the National Rifle Association, began offering gunsmithing and law enforcement armorer schools in the summer of 1994. The school offers courses in repair & function of rifles, auto pistols, revolvers, and shotguns. Other classes include bluing, re-barreling, alternative finishes, stock repair and refinishing, and more. These classes are not college accredited at this time. Each student receives a certificate for each class attended.
We are actively working on the 2025 summer schedule. The schedule will be uploaded here once we have it complete or semi-complete. Until the new schedule is uploaded, feel free to take a look at last summer's schedule to get an idea of classes and layout.
Classes are subject to change. Most classes are on rotation and changed out summer to summer, but we usually have these every summer: Basic Gunsmithing, Basic Lathe, and Basic Mill.
We have made a google document link where you can fill it out, submit it, and it will automatically be sent to my email (shopson@mscok.edu). If you wish, you can still print off a hard copy and mail it to us to ensure we receive it. Please submit the google document link form before sending any payment. Just as previous years, please hold payment until notified. Payment will not be processed until we know that we have enough attendance to offer a class. Payment methods include cash, credit card, and check. Cash and credit card are preferred. If sending a check, please make it payable to MSC/NRA Summer Program. If there are any questions, please call 580-387-7480. If mailing a hard copy form, please send it to:

We are unsure of housing and dining for summer 2025.
Campus housing is $50 per person, per night. Please read description of dorm options below. There will be 2 people per suite for Aggie Suites! May be more if we are running low on space! Or family attends! It is still $50 per person, per night. We are unsure of housing for 2024.
Campus Housing options are: Aggies Flats or Aggie Suites. We will use one or the other, not both.
Aggie Flats are single residency, but about 5 miles off (west of) campus. Even though it is off campus, it is considered a part of MSC student housing, therefore, all campus housing rules apply. You will need a vehicle since it is off campus several miles.
Aggie Suites are right on campus a few steps away from the building! They are 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom suites. You will share the front door entrance, but that's about it. You will have your own bedroom and bathroom, unless there are more than 2 people per suite. If there are more than 2 people per suite, bathrooms will have to be shared.
All rooms, Flats and Suites, are equipped with wi-fi, a microwave, a mini fridge, a twin/twin XL mattress and full bathroom. Please do research on a twin size mattress. If you feel it is too short for you, campus housing may not be the route you want to go.
If you wish to stay in campus housing, please indicate as such on the registration form with how many nights you are staying. Check in Sunday and check out Friday = 5 nights or, for 4-day classes, check in Sunday and check out Thursday = 4 nights. Regardless of 4 or 5-day classes, Check in is usually Sunday, usually in the early afternoon / evening, Unless prior arrangements are made to check in a different day (not earlier than Sunday). Please be advised check in procedures are subject to change. Regardless of check out day, Check out is always before 5pm. Please have all of your belongings out of the rooms before 5pm on your check out day (Thursday or Friday). Check in and check out procedures are subject to change.
You will need to provide your own bedding (twin/twin XL sheets & comforter, pillows, blankets), towels, toilet paper, small trash can, soap, shampoo, shower curtain (just in case), rug for bathroom (just in case) and any other toiletries you may need.
Just a Reminder: These are campus dorms intended for college students at Murray State College, not hotels.
There are hotel options available if you do not wish to stay in campus housing.
