Murray State College and SouthernTech have partnered to create a pathway from SouthernTech’s Biotechnology Program to Murray State College’s Science Program, Biotechnology Option.

This collaboration will support students enrolled in the biotechnology program, which combines the strengths of both institutions, such as offering career services and development opportunities.

“By earning college credit through this partnership with Southern Tech,” said Becky Henthorn, Murray State College Provost, “students can begin an exciting journey toward a degree in biotechnology, realizing their full potential for future careers in the rapidly expanding STEM field.”

Murray State will award 13 college credit hours to students who complete SouthernTech’s program and want to further their education.

“We are excited to continue expanding educational opportunities for our students,” said Eric Ward, SouthernTech Superintendent. “Through collaboration, we empower students, strengthen communities in southern Oklahoma and set a benchmark for workforce development.”

This is the fifth agreement signed between Murray State and Southern Tech.

“We are working together to enhance academic opportunities and drive innovation in the biotechnology field,” said Dr. Tim Faltyn, Murray State College President. “It’s essential to move beyond traditional approaches and rethink how to work together to benefit students.”
