This year, Murray State College celebrated 50 years of education excellence for our nursing program.

The program graduated its first class of 25 students in 1973; this year is expected to graduate more than 100 students. To mark the occasion, the Murray State nursing department put together a celebratory banquet. The evening included a dinner, award presentations and comments from Murray State President Dr. Tim Faltyn about the future of the expanding program. Two members of the first class attended the evening celebration, including Ms. Carolyn Blaire and Ms. Bobbi LaFevers.

All funds raised for the event, more than $20,000, benefit a new scholarship called the MSC Nursing Healthcare Hero Scholarship. This scholarship will provide needed financial assistance to nursing students wishing to purse their dream of helping others.
