Murray State College and the Murray State College Foundation recently signed a memorandum of understanding to form an added partnership. In the agreement, the Murray on Main stores will contribute $500 per month to establish a new scholarship for its student retail employees.

“Our students are engaging in practical internship experiences to teach them how to operate and market a retail store,” said Ginger Cothran, Murray State Vice President of Ardmore. “This scholarship will provide valuable financial relief for our interns.”

The Murray State College Foundation is the primary fundraising mechanism of the College. As a stand-alone organization, the Foundation stewards dollars from donors and grantors for student scholarships, faculty and staff initiatives, and college development.

“Murray State provides so many opportunities for its students,” said Jordyn Frazier, Murray State College Executive Director. “I am proud that the Foundation can be a good partner to the College, providing stewardship and oversight of these dollars.”

Beginning in the Fall 2024 semester, students who apply and are accepted into the Murray on Main Work Program will receive a scholarship to cover tuition costs.

“Members of the Murray State team are always thinking forward,” said Dr. Tim Faltyn, Murray State College President. “I am proud of the level of collaboration we’ve achieved with the Foundation to see excellent ideas like this come to fruition.”
