The Murray State College Foundation has received a grant from the Gray Family Foundation in support of the Jerome Westheimer Southern Oklahoma Nursing Education Center (SONEC) in Ardmore.

The Murray State College Board of Regents is vital in guiding the college’s future. Regent Gray’s personal investment extends beyond leadership; it’s a direct commitment to the success of Murray State students and the continued growth of Aggie Nation.

“Murray State has always held a special place in my heart,” Gray said. “I’ve seen firsthand the transformative impact this institution has on students and the future of healthcare in our region. My commitment is about ensuring the students have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. Investing in Murray State means investing in a stronger, healthier future for all.”

Regent Gray’s support ensures that Murray State College continues to prepare skilled graduates who will serve and improve healthcare in our communities, addressing critical needs and make a lasting difference.

“The Murray State College Foundation is dedicated to supporting the college’s mission through meaningful fundraising,” said Jordyn Frazier, Murray State College Foundation Executive Director. “Regent Gray’s generous gift will play a vital role in advancing this project. We are grateful for his investment in our students and the future of our region.”

The Westheimer SONEC will be a 42,000-square-foot nursing education facility with classrooms, laboratories, student services, and flexible learning spaces for Murray State and its education partners. This center will offer more than 30 new jobs in Ardmore to train 250-300 nurses annually.

“Regent Gray’s contribution holds a special meaning as it comes from a dedicated member of our Board of Regents who truly loves Murray State College,” said Murray State College Dr. Tim Faltyn. “It is a powerful testament to his belief in Murray State’s mission and the significant role of healthcare education in shaping our future.”
