Murray State College Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations Justin Cellum has been accepted as a Higher Learning Commission (HLC) peer reviewer.

As a peer reviewer, Cellum joins approximately 1,450 colleagues essential in assuring the quality of HLC member institutions. He was recently promoted to Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations after serving as the Vice President of Business Affairs for five years.

“This role allows me to contribute to the growth and quality of institutions, ensuring they provide meaningful learning experiences that empower students to succeed in a rapidly changing world,” Cellum said. “Additionally, serving as a peer reviewer offers a unique opportunity to bring back innovative ideas and best practices to Murray State College, helping our institution grow and thrive.”

The HLC is the institutional accreditor for degree-granting colleges and universities in the United States, whose mission is to “advance the common good through quality assurance of higher education as the leader in equitable, transformative and trusted accreditation in the service of students and member institutions.”

Peer reviewers are trained to evaluate colleges and universities and provide advice and consultation to help them continuously improve. He will begin training in February 2025.
