The Murray State College Bass Fishing Team has claimed the national title at The Bass Federation (TBF) JUCO National Championship, topping a competitive field of 30 teams representing six colleges across Oklahoma.
“This team is truly special. We have seasoned talent and freshmen who are settling in and showing their skills as well,” said John Owen, Murray State College Bass Fishing Team Coach. “They are all just starting to scratch the surface with what they can and will do.”
The Aggies showcased dominance on the water, with the team of Braden Lankford and Matt Manners securing the winning bag to clinch the championship. Not far behind were Conner McAllister and Ayden Ford, who finished in second place, giving Murray State a powerful one-two finish on the national stage.
“The dedication and teamwork these student-athletes display—both in the classroom and on the water—truly represent the spirit of Murray State athletics,” said Brandon Bowling, Murray State College Athletic Director. “We couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve accomplished.”
The win cements Murray State College’s reputation as a powerhouse in collegiate bass fishing and marks another milestone for the program’s growing success.
“This national championship reflects the excellence and commitment we see across our campus every day,” said Dr. Tim Faltyn, Murray State College President. “Our bass fishing team continues to elevate Murray State’s reputation nationally, and we are thrilled to celebrate this incredible achievement with them.”
