Murray State College has announced that Vincent Hancock will be this year’s 101st commencement speaker.
Hancock started competing when he was 11 and won his first Men’s Skeet World Championship title and the International Shooting Sport Federation’s Shooter of the Year award when he was 16 years old.
He is the first Olympic skeet shooter to win gold medals in the same event in consecutive Olympic Games and recently won gold in Men's Skeet at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Earning his fourth world championship title in 2018, Hancock is the first to win four world titles in Men’s Skeet and one of three men in the shotgun discipline to earn four world titles in his career.
“Vincent Hancock exhibits the heart and work ethic of a champion in his daily life,” said Dr. Tim Faltyn, Murray State College President. “We are honored to have him speak to our graduates about resiliency, discipline and how to continue pursuing excellence in their professional and personal lives.”
Murray State College’s 101st Commencement will be held at 7 p.m. on May 9, 2025, at the Aaittafama' Ishto' in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
