Murray State College named Jordyn Frazier as the Vice President of External Affairs.

Frazier began working at Murray State College in July 2021 as the Advancement Coordinator and has also held the positions of Director of Development & Alumni Affairs and Assistant Vice President of External Affairs. Before joining the Murray State team, she served as the Executive Director of the Johnston County Chamber of Commerce for four years.

“I care deeply about impact, and I see my position and area as one that provides support to the rest of the college in one way or another,” said Frazier. “We get to tell the story of how higher education changes lives for the better every day.”

In addition to economic and grant development, she has managed the fundraising campaign for the $25 million Westheimer Southern Oklahoma Nursing Education Center. Her office oversees the communications, marketing and branding of Murray State.

Since 2022, Frazier has been instrumental in securing more than $46 million in external funding to support Murray State’s academic and athletic programs, as well as capital projects. In her dual role as Executive Director of the Murray State College Foundation, she seeks ways to leverage the nonprofit's functions to benefit Murray State’s students and communities.

“It is my honor to serve with such an excellent team, at both the college and foundation, during this incredible period of growth,” she said. “I’m excited for the future of Murray State and what that means for our communities across southern Oklahoma.”

A Murray State alumnus, Frazier currently serves on the Johnston County Industrial Authority, as chair of Oklahoma Southeast, and recently finished a term on the Tishomingo City Council. She is a member of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Economic Development Council and the Johnston County Chamber of Commerce.

“Jordyn has an exceptional ability to build relationships and bring new opportunities to the college,” said Leslie Larsen, Murray State College Board of Regents Incoming Chair. “Her leadership has already made a significant difference. We are confident Jordyn will continue to elevate the college’s mission and strengthen our impact on students and the communities that we serve.”

“Jordyn’s leadership has had a powerful and lasting impact on Murray State College,” said Dr. Tim Faltyn, Murray State College President. “Her ability to build meaningful relationships has been instrumental in expanding support for student success, enhancing our campus and investing in the future of education.”

Frazier and her husband, Nick, live in Tishomingo with their son, Elijah, and baby girl, Abigail.
