Murray State College is proud to announce a new milestone in its history: enrollment has surged 8% over last fall’s headcount, setting a new institutional record. This achievement further cements a remarkable upward trend, with total headcount enrollment increasing by more than 40% since 2022.
“The momentum we’re experiencing comes from expanding opportunities for online and concurrent students while growing workforce programs that meet real needs,” said Becky Henthorn, Murray State College Provost. “Our advisors play a vital role by meeting students where they are and guiding them past challenges to achieve their goals.”
Murray State’s first day of class records indicate that concurrent and first-time freshman numbers provided the largest increase of 107% and 142%, respectively. With the addition of men’s and women’s wrestling, the college’s activity programs continue to attract new students.
“This record-breaking enrollment reflects the success of our strategy to meet the needs of students and workforce partners,” said Leslie Larsen, Chair of the Murray State College Board of Regents. “The opportunities provided by Murray State make a difference in our communities and strengthen our students so that they can pursue their dreams.”
Murray State’s programs in nursing, business, child development, arts and sciences, and health science represent the top five majors for all students.
“This success is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff,” said Dr. Tim Faltyn, Murray State College President. “Students and families recognize the value of a Murray State education, and together we are building a stronger future for our region.”
