Shopping local at Murray State College’s Murray on Main retail stores now has an even greater impact.

Murray State College has launched the Aggie Round-Up Scholarship Program in its Murray on Main retail stores in Ardmore and Tishomingo.

Through the program, customers can “round up” their purchase total to the next dollar or contribute a custom amount at checkout. “This initiative creates a powerful partnership between the college, its students and the community,” said Ginger Cothran, Vice President of Murray State College Ardmore.

Every dollar raised goes directly toward scholarships for Murray State students, working in the college’s Murray on Main stores, helping them cover the cost of their education. “By simply rounding up at checkout, customers make an immediate difference in the lives of our students — helping them succeed,” said Cothran.

“When we began discussing ways to expand support for our students, the Round-Up program was a natural fit,” said Dillon Sparks, Murray State College Regent. “It’s a simple idea with a powerful impact, allowing our community to directly contribute to student success every time they shop.”

The Murray on Main stores also serve as experiential learning labs, where students gain hands-on experience in retail, business and marketing. Students develop skills in customer service, inventory management and store operations, while also benefiting from the scholarship support generated through community contributions.

“Murray State College is committed to finding innovative ways to support our students, and the Aggie Round-up Scholarship is a perfect example of that,” said Dr. Tim Faltyn, Murray State College President. “Regent Sparks’ vision for connecting community support directly to student success inspired this program. Thanks to his leadership and our Murray on Main teams, every purchase now helps our students stay in school, graduate and build brighter futures.”
