Allen Benson

Regent Benson was born and raised in Ardmore, Oklahoma, alongside his seven siblings. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Education, with a specialty in Electronic Engineering, from Oklahoma State University. He also attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Junior College and has a certificate in auto mechanics from SouthernTech in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Benson has worked for Michelin North America US-9 for 38 years. He is a mechanical and electrical instructor for the US-9 Tire Manufacturing Facility.
He is a deacon at Corinth Baptist Church, former Board Chair of the HFV Wilson Community Center and an electrical instructor at Southern Tech.
He and his wife, Regina, have two sons, Allen T. Benson II and Wesley Adair Maximilian (Max) Benson.
Benson is the longest tenured Regent in Murray State College history, having served his fourth term come 2025. He began his tenure with an appointment by Governor Keating in 2001.
