Murray State College named Justin Rutledge its Assistant Vice President of Finance and Operations. Rutledge, who currently serves as the Clyde Kindell Farm Director, will continue in that role during the transition to ensure the farm’s ongoing success.

Rutledge will oversee the college’s budgeting and financial planning, focusing on efficient resource management and expense control to support students and campus operations. His role will be instrumental in developing strategies to optimize funding, streamline operations and enhance financial sustainability.

“I’m honored to step into this role,” Rutledge said. “This college has had a tremendous impact on my life and career. By helping to guide Murray State’s financial future, we can provide the support and stability needed for our students, faculty and staff to succeed.”

This addition is part of Murray State’s broader strategy for leadership development and succession planning, ensuring a smooth transition in key administrative roles.

“His background in finance provides a strong foundation for improving our processes and ensuring long-term sustainability,” said Justin Cellum, Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations. “His expertise in managing budgets and strong communication style will support the college’s efforts to expand academic programs, upgrade facilities and provide resources that benefit both students and the community.

By fostering internal leadership, the college maintains institutional knowledge while preparing for future growth and financial stability.

“Justin Rutledge is an excellent addition to the leadership team,” said Dr. Tim Faltyn, Murray State College President. “His commitment to honoring our mission and values will ensure that the college remains financially and operationally resilient for future generations.”
