State community college association recognizes MSC scholarship coordinator for creative excellence
The yearly competition is open to all full- and part-time community college employees who belong to the association. A panel of peer reviewers judge entries based on the problem, solution and evidence of impact on the institution. Also recognized with awards were employees from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology, Connors State College, and Tulsa Community College.
Story’s submission detailed the Murray State College Foundation’s “Bet on Me” campaign concept. The campaign spotlights student stories and includes a video that features individual students addressing donors who help fund higher education opportunities through scholarships.
“We strive to provide students the opportunity to interact with those who help fund the cost of higher education here at Murray State College. The video developed by Mrs. Story made a real impact on everyone who had a chance to take part in producing it – as well as those who had the opportunity to view it,” said MSC President Joy McDaniel.
“We applaud the OCCA for recognizing the importance of innovation and creativity, and we congratulate Ms. Story on being selected to receive one of this year’s awards,” added McDaniel.
Scholarship applications at Murray State College will be accepted through Academic Works on the MSC website beginning November 1, 2018. For questions about scholarship opportunities, contact Ivy Story at firstname.lastname@example.org or 580-387-7124 or visit the college website at mscok.edu.
