Murray State Women’s Soccer to Play United We Stand Match Honoring Fallen Officers

Murray State College Women’s Soccer has announced plans to host Brookhaven College on Sunday, August 28, 2016 for a special United We Stand Match, benefiting the Dallas Fallen Officers Foundation. The match, which begins at 2 p.m., will be held at Ardmore’s Regional Park Soccer Complex, 2704 N. Rockford Road.

Donations will be accepted, and, during the match, special wristbands and shirts will be available for sale.  Coach Cortney Wiesler has been working with the president of the Dallas Fallen Officers Foundation, Sergeant Demetrick Pennie, to ensure that all the money raised will go directly to families of officers who tragically lost their lives on July 7, 2016.

Wiesler has also enlisted help and support from the MSC Campus Police Department, Tishomingo Police Department, Ardmore Police and Fire Departments and Ardmore Parks and Recreation, along with other local community groups.

“It was important to me to reach out to the local first responders and get them involved in this event. The officers killed in Dallas were their brothers, and these deaths affected them deeply. I wanted to make sure we got a chance to honor the fallen and to show our appreciation for everything first responders do for us on a daily basis,” said Wiesler.

MSC will be wearing special uniforms specifically designed to honor sacrifices made by the five brave men who lost their lives protecting members of the Dallas community.  All game-worn jerseys will be auctioned online after the match. The online auction, hosted by, will be open for bidding from Monday, August 29, through Monday, September 12, 2016.
