MSC to hold commencement ceremony on Friday, May 12, 2017
Murray State College will hold a commencement ceremony for Fall 2016, Spring 2017 and Summer 2017 graduates on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 7 p.m. on the Tishomingo campus north lawn. This year’s commencement speaker will be Oklahoma’s Lt. Governor, the Honorable Todd Lamb.
“We are extremely honored to have Lt. Governor Lamb as this year’s commencement speaker. He is an avid supporter of student success who believes in the importance of higher education. Lt. Governor Lamb has visited campus many times, and it’s always a pleasure to welcome him to Murray State College,” said President Joy McDaniel.
With over 1,000 people expected to attend, family and friends are encouraged to bring folding chairs or other seating to the outdoor ceremony. Seating for graduates will be provided, along with some seating for guests.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony for graduates with Associate in Applied Science or Associate in Arts degrees will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Fletcher Auditorium. The ceremony for graduates with Associate in Science degrees will follow at approximately 7-7:30 p.m. Seating in Fletcher Auditorium will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
If weather changes are made, a notice will be posted on the MSC website at mscok.edu by 2 p.m. on May 12th. Under the inclement weather plan, all students, family and friends will assemble in Campus Center as a holding location for the upcoming ceremonies.
