Murray State College soccer to play first conference matches in Tishomingo against NEO

Murray State College soccer will play the first conference matches of 2017 on Thursday, September 7 in Tishomingo.  The MSC women’s team takes to the field against Northeastern Oklahoma (NEO-Miami) at 2 p.m. with the men’s game to follow at 4 p.m.  The Student Government Association will sponsor a celebratory cookout from 1-5 p.m. at the field.

Previously based in Ardmore, MSC soccer teams have been relocated to Tishomingo.  The practice field on campus was redesigned to create a regulation soccer field complete with stands for spectators and new sod.  The soccer field is located across the street from the community softball complex.

“We are so excited to have soccer on our campus here in Tishomingo. We appreciated the opportunity to play in Ardmore, but look forward to the excitement game days will generate on campus.

The field is in great shape, the scoreboard is up, and we’re ready for conference competition,” MSC President Joy McDaniel said.

The MSC men’s team won their match at Austin College last month, and the women’s team has beat both Mountain View and Cedar Valley.

Community members are encouraged to attend all sporting events at Murray State College.  Soccer fans are invited to sit in the stands or bring their own chairs.
