Murray State College names Matt Reeb head coach for men’s soccer

Murray State College Athletic Director Justin Cellum has announced the hiring of Matt Reeb as head coach for men’s soccer. Reeb comes to MSC from West Virginia’s Alderson Broaddus University where he served as an assistant soccer coach.

Reeb earned a master of science in sports performance from Concordia University and graduated in 2010 from Greenville College in Greenville, Ill. with a degree in kinesiology.

Prior to Alderson Broaddus, Reeb spent six years as head coach at Gibault Catholic High School in Waterloo, Ill.  In 12 combined seasons of coaching, he had 143 career wins, seven regional championships, four sweet sixteen appearances, two final four appearances and a state title in the 2013 men’s season.

“I’m excited to lead the soccer program at Murray State College and look forward to progress we will make as a team and a program,” said Reeb.

As a player at the collegiate level, Reeb was 2007 Newcomer of the Year in the SLIAC, a member of the all-conference team in the SLIAC from 2007-2009, a team captain for Greenville College in 2008-2009 and NCAA All-Region and NSCAA All-American in 2009. Reeb also coached at the club level after his playing career.

Cellum says Reeb comes from a strong championship background and is poised to do great things at Murray State College.  MSC President Joy McDaniel says, “Matt Reeb is a great addition to the MSC family, and we’re happy to have him in Tishomingo.”
