Murray State College men’s golf team places 2nd at OCU & women’s golf team places 3rd at OBU tournaments


On September 25, the final day of Oklahoma City University’s tournament in Newton, Kansas, the Murray State College men’s golf team shot the best round of the day to finish with a 2nd place overall finish in the three round tournament. The OCU Stars, ranked No. 1 in NAIA men’s golf, won the tournament with a 872, followed by Murray State at 891, and Mount Mercy University and Sterling College tying for third at 893. On the individual leader board, Murray State College’s Owen Grimes tied for 4th and Leonardo Ruggieri tied for 8th overall. 

Also on September 25, the Murray State College women’s golf team finished 3rd place overall at Oklahoma Baptist University’s Spring Invitational in Shawnee. The host, OBU, finished the tournament in first place, shooting a 628 overall, followed by Harding at 653 and Murray State at 659. Murray State College’s Rian Moores, who lead in the individual standings after the first round, finished third overall in the tournament which took place at the Shawnee Country Club.
