Murray State College Baseball Ends Season at NJCAA Region 2 Tournament


The Murray State College baseball team ended their season with a heartbreaking 15-13 loss to Western Oklahoma State College in Enid, Okla. at the NJCAA Region 2 Tournament on Saturday, May 14.

The Aggies snagged an early lead in the top of the first, with singles from Fernando Garcia and Austin Ferguson and an RBI single from Cade Carter allowing a steal at home by Chandler Robertson.

In the third inning, MSC scored on a solo home run from Fernando Garcia. Joseph Shepherd also recorded a home run for Murray State.

The Aggies trailed Western after the fourth inning. The Aggies tried to fight back to the top with a solo home run by Garcia and an RBI double by Martin Pauwels in the seventh inning, closing the lead to 15-13. The Aggies were unable to overcome the Pioneers.

Lane Rice, JT Watt, AJ Austin, Bryan Rodriguez and Dalton Wolf all saw action on the bump, with Watt striking out two and Austin striking out one.
