Murray State College Aggie Baseball Off to a Strong Start

Murray State College baseball is off to a strong start this season posting a 20-4 record through March 13, placing them third in the first national poll.  The Aggies are built around a strong offense, a gritty pitching staff, and consistent defense.

So far, Aggie wins include a two-game sweep of NJCAA Division 3 first-place Tyler Junior College, a series victory over NJCAA Division 2 second-place LSU-Eunice, and a win against NJCAA Division 1 third-place Iowa Western Community College.

The offense has received many accolades so far this season including four consecutive Region II Hitter of the Week awards, given to Gabe Simons, Grant Macciocchi, Sean Dixson, and Grant Macciocchi respectively. Macciocchi was also named the National Hitter of the Week for his performance during the week of March 6-12.

The Aggies have two more weeks of non-conference play before kicking off Region 2 play against Redlands Community College on April 6 at 1 p.m. in Tishomingo.
