MSC’s Christy Green is named Outstanding Educator for 2017 by OKADE
Murray State College faculty member and Student Success Center Director Christy Green has been named 2017 Outstanding Educator by the Oklahoma Association for Developmental Education (OKADE). Green was presented with an award at the group’s annual conference on November 2 in Moore, Okla.
The OKADE is an association that is comprised of students of developmental education and faculty, staff, and administrators of two- and four-year academic and vocational institutions. Each year OKADE recognizes an educator in Oklahoma nominated for outstanding work with students in developmental classes. Green, who was nominated by her peers, was chosen for her dedication and commitment.
“We congratulate Christy Green on this amazing award. She truly is an outstanding educator, and students at Murray State College benefit greatly from her experience, enthusiasm and understanding of developmental education,” MSC President Joy McDaniel said.
Under a federal grant from the Native American-serving Nontribal Institutions Program (NASNTI), Murray State College is in the process of renovating its library facilities. When complete, the reimagined space will house library resources, tutorial and remediation classrooms, and improve the capacity to serve Native Americans and low-income students. The success center will open in early 2018.
