MSC Women's Basketball competes in Seward County Classic


Liberal, KS— The Aggie Women’s Basketball Team Kicked off their 2014– 2015 season over Halloween weekend competing in two games as a part of the Seward County Pepsi Classic.

MSC 85, Garden City 69
In the Halloween season opener, the MSC Aggies were treated to a solid win over Garden City. While MSC entered half time with only a two point lead, the Aggies managed to outscore their opponent by 14 points in the second half to solidify the win. Tierani Richardson proved to be a scary obstacle for Garden City as she went on to score 49 points in the contest converting on 19 of 24 free throw attempts and 8 of 12 from behind the arc. In her first game sporting the Aggie uniform, Shaylynn Bass recorded a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Seward 68, MSC 49
The final contest of the classic proved to be a little more challenging for the Aggies. As they faced a very well-rounded offensive attack from Seward, MSC was unable to overcome a double digit deficit throughout most of the game. The Saints 6’4” Redshirt freshman Tamara Seda led all scorers with 23 points. Tierani Richardson finished with16 points while Shaylynn bass had another solid performance recording 11 points and 8 boards for the lady Aggies. Mercy Agwaniru also added a lift on the boards pulling in 11 rebounds.
