MSC Phi Beta Lambda Food Drive Assists Residents in Tishomingo and Healdton

Murray State College students who attend the University Center of Southern Oklahoma in Ardmore, Okla., donated over 700 items during the week-long Phi Beta Lambda Food Drive that concluded on Friday, November 11, 2016.

“We are thankful for the generosity shown by our students, faculty and staff.  An important part of the Murray State College mission is giving back to the communities we serve, and Phi Beta Lambda does a wonderful job of supporting these efforts,” MSC President Joy McDaniel said.

On Wednesday, November 16, Murray State College students Christie Echols and Samuel Watts, along with Kathy Bowen, division chair for business and professional studies, delivered donations to the Healdton Food Bank in Healdton, Okla.  Also assisting with the delivery were Verna Watts and Dustin Gardner.

“Phi Beta Lambda chapter members would like to thank everyone who donated to the food drive this fall in both Tishomingo and Ardmore.  Food bank organizers appreciate our efforts and say the items donated will go a long way to help members of our communities this year,” Kathy Bowen said.

In addition to the Healdton Food Bank, donations in Tishomingo were delivered to the Clothes Closet and INCA.
