MSC golfer receives top tournament prize


The Murray State College women’s golf team traveled to San Antonio to compete in the University of the Incarnate Word Lady Cardinal Classic and brought back the top individual prize.

Ali White receives first place trophy at Lady Cardnial ClassicMSC Freshman Ali White brought home the trophy for first place individual finisher. With scores of 76, 73, and 72, White finished with a two-day score of 221 putting her at the top of all individuals. This is the second time White has won a tournament. She previously claimed the top spot at the Southwest Christian University Fall Invitational in Oklahoma City earlier in the season.

Elodie-Jane Yates finished the tournament tied for fourth place, with scores of 81, 73, and 74 (228). Megan Buchanan finished in 18th (88, 89, 87 – 264), and Kendyll Harvey finished in 24th (94, 91, 94 – 279).

In the latest Golfstat rankings, the women are ranked number 10 among other NJCAA colleges. Off for the winter, the women's team will resume play in the spring.
