MSC Basketball Standout Bailee Eldred Signs with Northeastern State University
Murray State College sophomore basketball player Bailee Eldred has committed to continue her education and basketball career at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla.
Eldred, a native of Sulphur, Okla., signed with NSU on Thursday, November 10, 2016 in Tishomingo.
When asked about her time at Murray State College, Eldred said, “I will miss all of the people I have met. I will miss my coaches, teammates, friends, and teachers. I've made some great lifelong friends at Murray and that will be the hardest part about leaving. But, I look forward to the new opportunities ahead of me. I'm very excited to complete my basketball career at NSU and take steps closer to my career path. I'm very blessed.”
President Joy McDaniel said, “We are so proud of Ms. Eldred. She has proven herself successful in the classroom and on the court. She will do great things at Northeastern and be an asset to the team and the institution.”
Eldred, who came to MSC as a freshman in 2014, has proven to be a powerful player for the Lady Aggies basketball team. She is a pre-law major with plans to attend law school.
MSC Head Women’s Basketball Coach Justin Cellum said, “NSU is getting a special person and a special player in Bailee Eldred. Bailee's work ethic and passion to succeed on and off the floor has carried her to this point in her life, and I am very confident she will continue to accomplish great things while at NSU. Bailee played a large role in our success last season and she has been an outstanding leader for us so far this year.”
Eldred will finish the 2016-2017 school year as an Aggie before moving on to Tahlequah, Okla. to begin the fall semester as an NSU Riverhawk.
