MSC Baseball Player Signs with Kentucky

Murray State College sophomore baseball player and Dayton, Ohio native Troy Black committed to continuing his education and baseball career at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky. earlier this month.

When asked what he will miss about MSC, Black said, “I will miss the small campus, the small-town community, and my close friends.”

Upon graduation from MSC, Black plans to earn his bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications and then eventually play professional baseball.

MSC Head Baseball Coach Zach Crabtree said, “Troy Black has the chance to be a great player this year for us. He is a very talented young man with great upside. His potential is what is so exciting and what allowed him to sign with the University of Kentucky. He has the chance to be a difference-maker for the Wildcats in the nation’s toughest baseball conference.”

Black said he looks forward to becoming the best baseball player he can possibly be and competing in the best conference in college athletics.

President Joy McDaniel said, “We're looking forward to watching this spring as Troy Black hones his skills as an Aggie in preparation for advancing to the University of Kentucky.  His future is very bright indeed.

Black will represent MSC this season before beginning his new journey as a Kentucky Wildcat.
