Former Aggie drafted by the Astros


Keach BallardMurray State College Alumni Keach Ballard has been drafted by the Houston Astros. Ballard was drafted in round 31 of the 2015 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

The infielder from Durant, OK., played at MSC during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. During his time at MSC, Ballard set numerous school records for offense, was named first team All-American in 2013 and was crucial member of the 2013 National Championship team.

"We are so proud of Keach and happy for him and his family. He earned this through his work ethic and hardnosed approach to the game. Keach has meant so much to this program and we are excited to see what the future holds for him." said MSC head coach Zach Crabtree.

"It means that all the work I have put into this sport my whole life has finally paid off and to never quit chasing after your dreams. I felt relieved like no other." said Ballard.
