Aggies score first goal in College history

Ardmore Regional Park was transformed into Aggie Nation on Saturday. Fans flooded the soccer field to watch the Murray State College men’s soccer team compete in the first home soccer match in College history.

The Aggies came in to the match 0-4 on the season. In the four road games leading up to the match versus Rose State College on Saturday, MSC had been held scoreless. In Midwest City the previous weekend, Rose State shut out the Aggies 0-6. That was not to be the case in Ardmore as in the 49th minute, freshman Benjamin Gonzalez scored the first goal in College history. It would be the only goal for the Aggies, as the team fell 6-1.

Prior to the match, fans were treated to free food and drinks at a tail gate party. The next home match for the team is October 1 at 4:00 p. m.
